How to join or leave the Beta Testing Program?

To participate in Mojang's beta testing program, you must be using an Android device that supports Google Play and you must own a copy of the game purchased through the Google Play Store.  Unfortunately, beta testing is unavailable on Android devices without the Google Play Store, on iOS devices, or on Windows 10 devices.

If you meet the requirements above, then joining or leaving the beta testing program is easy! You can use the same link to do it and follow the instructions on the screen. You can see the process in the pictures below.

Please keep in mind that this process is not instant, it could take anywhere from a few hours to few days for the game to update to the state you prefer.  If it is taking a long time, double check you are using the same account that owns your copy of the game.  The update will appear in the Google Play store just like any other update.

When you click the link, please make sure you are logged in to the Play Store with the same email address you used to purchased the game or you won't see the beta testing updates.

One more thing: remember to back up your worlds!  Beta testing can break things, and we don't want you to lose all your hard work.  If you leave the Beta Testing Program, remember to restore your backups because the features in the new beta testing version may not be compatible with the previous version.

JOIN
- Click this Join Beta link and click the "Become a Tester" button as shown below, then wait for an update in the Google Play Store.  If you don't see the page below, double check you are using the account that owns your copy of Minecraft: Pocket Edition.  Remember to back up your worlds before you start beta testing.

LEAVE
- Click this Leave Beta link and click "Leave the program" as shown below.  Then uninstall your copy of the game from the Google Play Store.  Don't worry, your worlds will not be deleted and you don't have to buy the game again. Then wait for the Google Play Store to show the old version and reinstall the game.  Remember to restore any worlds you opened while beta testing because those worlds won't be compatible with the old version.
